No. Generative AI can make video from text, but it can't make the thing people actually follow, which is a real person with a real life and footage that happened. What AI is replacing is the hours between filming and posting. A creator who used to spend six hours editing a vlog now spends one. The creator stays. The timeline shrinks.
Why
- Audiences follow people. Engagement on social video tracks the person on screen and how consistent their voice is. A synthetic host has no history and no stakes.
- Real footage carries proof. A painting reveal, a first day at a new job, a bad take that stays in. These work because they happened.
- Generators (Runway, Sora, Veo) make new clips. Editors that understand footage (Vyra, Descript) work on what you shot. The second kind makes creators faster. The first mostly makes ads and b-roll.
- The bottleneck was never ideas. It was the edit.
