Story time video: how to shoot, edit, and prompt it
A story time is you telling a personal story to camera, usually while doing something with your hands, with cuts and punch-ins instead of b-roll.

Structure
- 0-3s: the cliffhanger line
- 3-10s: minimum context, two names max
- 10-90s: what happened, in order, a small reveal every 10 seconds
- 90-110s: the big reveal
- 110-120s: how it ended, one line
How to shoot it
- Do something with your hands. It relaxes you and gives the frame movement.
- Frame from the chest up, activity visible at the bottom.
- Tell the story once out loud before recording.
- One take. Restarts kill it.
- Keep energy on the reveals.
How to edit it
- Cut every pause and tangent.
- Punch in 15-20% on each reveal, back out on the next setup.
- Word-by-word captions if you talk fast, phrases if calm.
- A sound effect on the big reveal is enough.
- Keep the activity continuous across cuts so jump cuts look natural.
Prompt it in Vyra

Should I show the people in the story? No. Nicknames are enough. Keep it about what happened to you.
Can it be long? Yes, if every 10 seconds has a small reveal. Cut anything that doesn't move the story.
