Commission reveal video: how to shoot, edit, and prompt it
A commission reveal holds the finished piece back behind the brief, the process, and the packing, then shows it in full for the first time at the end.

My "longing" reveal is one. The trade is simple. Never show the whole piece before the last few seconds.

Structure
- 0-3s: the brief, text over the reference photo
- 3-15s: process clips, all partial
- 15-20s: framing, signing, or packing
- 20-25s: the reveal, one slow move, no cuts
- 25-35s: hold on the full piece with title, size, medium
- 35-45s: the client's reaction, if you have it
How to shoot it
- Shoot the reveal last, in daylight, on a plain wall.
- One slow move, 6-8 seconds. Tilt up from the bottom edge or pull back from a detail.
- Frame the process clips tight so the composition never reads.
- Get the signing. People love the signing.
- Screenshot the brief with the client's OK and crop out names.
How to edit it
- Music quiet for the first two thirds, one swell on the reveal.
- Process clips on the beat, 2-3 seconds each.
- No cut during the reveal move.
- Hold the full piece at least 4 seconds after the move ends.
- Title, dimensions, and medium as one caption at the hold.
- Captions off during the reveal.
Prompt it in Vyra
Build a 30-second commission reveal. Start with the reference photo and the caption "she asked for her grandmother's garden" for 3 seconds. Then four process clips, cropped so the whole painting never shows, 2-3 seconds each on the beat. Then the signing clip. End on the tilt-up reveal with no cuts, hold the finished piece for 5 seconds, and add "longing, 28 x 37 in, acrylic and oil" in the lower third.
Keep the music low until the reveal, then bring it up on the tilt.
Crop the second process clip tighter so the top half of the canvas is hidden.

How long should the hold be? Four to six seconds. Long enough to read it and screenshot it.
Can I show the piece earlier? A detail, yes. The full thing, no.
